Baluchistan: January 31,2026 :
Security forces on Tuesday thwarted a series of coordinated militant attacks across several districts of Balochistan, responding swiftly and effectively at all targeted locations, officials said.
According to security sources, militants attempted to target a police van on Quetta’s Saryab Road, where a prompt response by police, later reinforced by Frontier Corps (FC) troops, led to a brief exchange of fire. Four attackers were killed during the operation.
In Nushki, militants launched a firing raid on the FC headquarters but were repelled by alert security personnel, forcing them to retreat. A separate attempted suicide attack on the FC headquarters in Dalbandin was also foiled after forces cordoned off the area and engaged the assailants. A firefight was ongoing at the time of reporting.
Meanwhile, militants attacked the Deputy Commissioner’s office and police lines in Kalat. Security forces responded effectively, inflicting losses on the attackers, while an exchange of fire continued.
Additional attacks were reported at the Pakistan Coast Guards post in Pasni, where a distant firing raid was repulsed, and at a labourers’ colony in Gwadar. Police and FC personnel reached the site promptly and engaged the attackers.
Militants also carried out grenade and distant firing attacks on security posts in Balicha, Tump, and Mastung; all were successfully repelled, officials said.
Security sources confirmed that the overall situation remains under control, with forces maintaining positions across affected areas. Initial reports indicate that two to three security personnel sustained injuries.
Authorities described the attacks as an attempt to create unrest and emphasized that security forces remain on high alert to prevent any further incidents.
