The rally was led by Central Traders Union Provincial General Secretary Ehsan Bacha, Patron-in-Chief Haji Rehmat Gul, District General Secretary Ghulam Hussain, Small Chamber of Commerce President Taj Muhammad, Vice President Naeem Shah, Bank Road President Rizwanullah, along with other prominent figures including Pervez Khan and Abdul Zar Lalai.
Protesters temporarily blocked Shamsi Road, voicing their outrage over the killing of innocent civilians, particularly women and children, in Gaza. They also condemned recent statements from the U.S. President supporting Israeli control over the Gaza Strip, warning of nationwide protests if the violence continues.
Speaking at a press conference following the rally, Ehsan Bacha criticized Muslim leaders for remaining silent in the face of what he described as a genocide, accusing them of seeking U.S. approval at the cost of Palestinian lives. He urged all traders to cease selling Israeli products, warning that disciplinary action would be taken against violators within the organization.
Bacha further called on the Pakistani government to adopt a clear stance against Israeli actions and urged Islamic countries to form a united front in response to the crisis.
According to Al Jazeera, as of February 3, 2025, approximately 62,614 Palestinians have been killed since the escalation of conflict. Other sources, such as The Independent, report lower figures, with at least 50,021 deaths as of late March 2025. The conflict was initially triggered by a Hamas attack in October 2023, which resulted in over 1,200 Israeli deaths—the deadliest day in Israel in decades.
