Report by CBN247 :
PESHAWAR – A fire broke out at the Excise Department’s warehouse in Peshawar due to a suspected electrical spark from overhead transmission lines, resulting in the complete destruction of nine non-functional vehicles.
According to Excise officials, the warehouse wall runs adjacent to a tree entangled with power transmission lines. The department had previously notified PESCO (Peshawar Electric Supply Company) about the potential hazard, but no action was taken to remove or relocate the lines. On the day of the incident, a spark occurred when the lines reportedly came into contact, igniting dry grass near the warehouse wall.
The flames quickly spread to the parked vehicles, but the swift response by Rescue 1122, the fire was brought under control before it could cause further damage. Only the nine vehicles—already classified as defunct—were destroyed in the blaze.
