The Embassy of Pakistan in Kabul marked the nation’s Independence Day with a solemn yet spirited ceremony, celebrating both the country’s historic freedom and its recent victory in Maarka-e-Haq against India.

Speaking at the flag-hoisting ceremony, Pakistan’s Ambassador to Afghanistan, Ubaid-ur-Rehman Nizamani, hailed the resilience of the Pakistani nation in the face of “India’s naked aggression” and reaffirmed the country’s determination to protect its geographical and ideological boundaries.

The Ambassador paid rich tributes to Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and the heroes of the independence movement, acknowledging their sacrifices as the foundation of Pakistan’s freedom. He also saluted the courage and dedication of Pakistan’s armed forces, noting that “the martyrs have secured the freedoms we cherish today.”

Highlighting the ongoing struggle in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), Ambassador Nizamani pledged Pakistan’s unwavering support for the Kashmiri people, urging that it is both a “collective and individual duty” to advocate for their right to self-determination.

The event also featured the reading of special messages from President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Mohammad Shahbaz Sharif, and Deputy Prime Minister/Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar, calling for unity, progress, and a renewed commitment to building a strong and prosperous Pakistan.

The ceremony concluded with embassy officials and staff reaffirming their dedication to national service, stability, and the ideals that define Pakistan’s independence.
